Geriatric Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy for Seniors

Physical therapy is particularly important for adults over 65 as muscles and joints tend to lose strength and stability over time. This physiological change can negatively impact independence in performing daily tasks and movements.

Geriatric physical therapy is specifically tailored toward the unique issues and challenges of older adults to

  • build strength and endurance

  • prevent deconditioning

  • prevent muscle atrophy

  • improve balance

  • decrease risk of falls and related injuries

  • extend independence

  • add confidence

  • improve quality of life
