“I worked with Balance Back to Life PT post-recovery from AARDS and after life support at NYU Langone. She was warm, caring and helped me tremendously through my recovery. I would unhesitatingly recommend BBTL for physical therapy and continue to use her 5 years later.”

“I would highly recommend Balance Back to Life PT. Dr. Mathilde is a wonderful PT - she's knowledgeable, patient and kind. Her past experiences and dedication have clearly prepared her for even what you believe to be a unique type of pain. There are many instances where I required her services and she's always been flexible and encouraging in her practice. I'm so thankful for all of the help provided by Balance Back to Life!”

How does Balance Back to Life PT help our neurologic clients?

Physical therapy helps target and improve symptoms stemming from your diagnoses. Through individualized treatment programs created by our skilled neurological specialists, we can help you reach your specific goals. It all starts with an extensive evaluation and a treatment plan that may include one or more focal areas:

  • Functional mobility training (transfers, daily tasks)

  • Strength and mobility training

  • Postural realignment

  • Gait and stair training

  • Transfer skills

  • Balance training and decreasing fall risk

  • Cardiovascular endurance

  • Core stability

  • Improve spasticity/tone

  • Assistive equipment evaluation and implementation

  • Pain management training

What is the frequency and length of neurologic physical therapy?

What sets Balance Back to Life Physical Therapy apart from other PT clinics is that we see most clients for full 60-minute sessions, allowing more complex and individualized treatments to be implemented.

Our treatments are home-based to include a living environment evaluation to guide you and your caregivers with recommended adaptations.

Depending on the condition, urgency and availability, we will recommend a weekly PT schedule along with a goal-driven time period. Every client also receives a detailed home exercise program to continue the training between sessions.

We are here to help you on this journey as you balance back to life!
