Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Physical Therapy for Spinal Cord Injury

A spinal cord injury (SCI) is usually a result of direct external impact to your spinal cord - either complete or incomplete.

  • A “complete SCI” means that there is no communication from the injury site to your muscles and nerves below.

  • An “incomplete SCI” has some remaining communication to muscles and nerves.

Both types of SCI often result in reduced strength and movement of trunk, arms and/or legs, and an overall decrease in function.

For any spinal cord damage case, movement and physical therapy are key to regaining lost function and confidence. At Balance Back to Life PT, we offer specialized neurological-focused physical therapy to help you regain function and reach your goals.
